CMC Motors employees resumed work on Wednesday, ending a strike that had paralysed operations at the motor dealer on Tuesday.
The company said in a statement that the management and union officials met and agreed on the issues raised by the workers.
The workers had gone on strike demanding the sacking of the firm’s managing director Solomon Muturi over alleged unfair treatment after he threatened to sack nine mechanics.
“The strike ended after they withdrew the charges against the mechanics,” said Amalgamated Union of Kenya Metal Workers deputy secretary-general Justus Otakwa.
CMC Holdings CEO Bill Lay termed the strike as the work of a few self-serving individuals whose motive is to scupper efforts to streamline operations at the auto dealer
