Kenya Airways passengers to bid for upgrade to fly Business class

National carrier Kenya Airways has activated an online programme that gives Economy class passengers a chance to bid for an upgrade to the Business class category.

Passengers scheduled to fly on Economy class will now be able to log onto the airline’s website to make an offer at least 36 hours prior to departure for a chance to secure the upgrade.

Customers will be required to submit their credit card information, booking reference number and their suggested price and the highest bidder will be alerted of their successful application and new booking.

Unsuccessful upgrades will not be charged.

“Successful passengers can enjoy all the business class luxuries including fast tracked check-in at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport’s Sky Priority counter,” Kenya Airways said in a statement.

“Upgraded passengers will have access on KQ world class Pride and Simba lounge and a wide selection of menu options among other features offered on its Business class cabin.”
