The Ministry of Devolution and Planning from Monday held a two-day training workshop for key Uwezo Fund managers as it prepares to release the funding to beneficiaries.

Some 290 Uwezo Fund Constituency Management Committee members were trained on how to handle the finances.

The ministry said the training aimed to equip the participants with skills to handle and evaluate project proposals from groups and institutions interested in funding.

“This training programme will ensure the fund is managed professionally at the constituency level by a well-equipped team that will guarantee efficiency, accountability and transparency in dispensing its duties,” said Devolution PS Peter Mangiti.
