Credit reference bureaus cast net wider

Defaulters on Sacco loans and utility bills will be blacklisted alongside borrowers who fail to repay their bank and microfinance debts, locking them out from the credit market.

“Ultimately everyone should share credit history information… borrowers who repay on time can then use the information to negotiate for better credit,” said Omukoko.
