Smartphone and Tablet maker Infinix Mobility has launched three new devices in the Kenyan market targeting different segments of the consumer market.

The three devices have been launched in a span of three weeks, which according Infinix country manager Carter Tang, will give their customers a wide choice.

The HOT S, HOT 4 and NOTE 3 are priced between Sh9,500 and Sh18,000 and can be bought from online and offline shops.

“Both the HOT 4 and HOT S are trendy and up to date with the needs of the average smartphone user,” said Mr Tang adding that some of the phones will soon be available in Safaricom outlets countrywide.

The local smartphone market has attracted a lot of players, especially in mid income segment seeking to cash in on opportunities left by expensive brands.

“We intend to tap into both the youthful and middle income earning segment of the economy with diversified devices,” said Mr Tang in an interview.

He said Infinix customers will now get better customer service after the company unveiled a new way to interact with them.

“Our customer service team will call anyone who buys an Infinix smartphone and gives us their contacts for a follow up. Our clients can also call direct if there is any complains,” he said.

Mr Tang described Kenya as a digitally innovative market, with respect to mobile and Internet solutions and that his company expects its phones to help close the gap.

All the newly launched Infix phones come with some of the best security features, including finger print scan.

Kenya has in the recent past been named as a leading market for smartphones in sub-Saharan Africa, with more than 150,000 smartphones sales each month.

This growth is attributed to a growing middle class that has increased the uptake of these types of phones.
