May’s Inflation reduced to 6.87 per cent, bucking a three-month rising trend due to falling food prices.

The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) data shows that inflation fell from an eight-month high of 7.08 per cent last month, helped by increased supply of food items due to the onset of heavy rains.

“The month to month food inflation was lower than the 3.92 per cent recorded during the previous month,” says KNBS in a statement.

“Food inflation eased due to decreases in prices of food items.”
