Lands minister names players in Kenya playground row

Lands Cabinet secretary Charity Ngilu has named the directors of the firm involved in a dispute with Lang’ata Road Primary School over the ownership of a parcel of land currently used as a playground.

Mrs Ngilu released a letter from the Registrar of Companies dated January 21 identifying the directors of Airport View Housing Limited as Harbans Singh Amrit (3,000 shares), Mandip Singh Amrit and Kamal Prakash Amrit (1,000 shares each) and Manjit Singh Amrit (nil).

The National Land Commission has disowned a title deed allocated to the firm in 1989 saying the land belonged to the Prisons Department and was allocated to the school in 1975.
