“I was a bit apprehensive about going to such a party at first but I met wonderful people and we are still communicating,” Ruth Moraa, a single lady, says.
Accommodation was provided in tents and a few rooms at the venue. Others preferred to chat all night or grab a wink next to the dozens of bonfires lit at various points in the compound.
Other than a large compound that allowed privacy for those who wanted to erect their own tents, Rhino Camp also offered a chance to visit nearby tourist attractions sites before or after the event.
From the camp, you can hike for 30 minutes to the Menengai Crater and walk back through the impressive Gingalili farm which focuses on dairy and vegetable farming.
You can also visit Lake Nakuru, which is less than 12 km away, the Happy Valley House on the Delamere Farm where a good number of dating couples go to propose to their lovers or the Lord Egerton Castle, the mammoth architectural house built that failed to impress the lady it was built for because it was too big.
Rhino Camp itself has over 60 species of birds that form a V in the evening as they fly back to their nests on the camp site.
