Easter falls on the first weekend of April and is fast approaching.
Have you made holiday bookings? Is your family even going on holiday this Easter?
Well time is running out and if decisions are yet to be made then head out to Sarit Centre in Westlands, Nairobi for the Holidays Tourism Fair—you could get a tip.
This exhibition, held just before every major holiday season, has become the best package hunting ground for local tourists.
Over 70 exhibitors will be showcasing their products ranging from accommodation, tour operators, travel agents as well as both domestic and international airlines and destinations.
The country has much to offer, so the Easter holidays will be the perfect time when you can take a break from your hectic work schedule to enjoy what the country has to offer and relax with your family.
Even Time Magazine has something to say about the splendour of the country having featured Nairobi in this week’s Global Adviser: City Guide.
The magazine lists 10 ways to spend time in the city, many of which Kenyans appreciate like going for coffee dates, nyama choma get-togethers, Nairobi national park visits or having a Tusker-drinking night-out with your friends or relatives.
So for those who will not be travelling out of town for this long weekend and live in the city it might be time to enjoy some of these activities that make the city unique and the hub of East Africa.
For those opting for out of town tours, one thing to remember is that the metrological department says the long rain season is here to stay until May.
Most areas in Western, Nyanza, Central, Nairobi and Rift Valley are expected to experience the seasonal rainfall.
So be aware that your family might be caught up in a downpour this Easter holidays, this though should not dampen the adventure spirit.
The Kenyan coast has always been the domestic travellers’ favourite destination, and as per the bookings so far in some of the properties by the Indian ocean this year is no different.
No worries though the downpour is expected “to be slightly depressed” the experts say.
Hotels accommodations are quickly filling up and if you are planning to enjoy the waves of the Indian Ocean and the sand between the toes make that booking before its too late.
For those looking to travel beyond the Kenyan borders and looking for ideas then sit with the Seychelles tourism board, properties from Tanzania and Uganda to know more about what is on offer in the region.
The exhibition runs until Sunday.
