Tom Odongo has gone to court seeking to stop the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) from hiring a new managing trustee after it advertised the position in the dailies Friday.

A new appointment would dim any hopes of Mr Odongo being reinstated even after he went to court seeking redemption for unfair dismissal limiting him to monetary settlement.

The court had however allowed the fund to advertise the position in a ruling made last month.

“Because of the steps taken by the 2nd Respondent (NSSF) it has become necessary to file an application for stay of the recruitment process pending hearing and determination of the motion dated 25th July 2013 seeking reinstatement pending trial. That my pursuit of justice will be rendered academic unless recruitment of a new Managing Trustee is stayed,” reads part of the documents filed by Mr Odongo.
