Karibu Travel and Tours, a tourism management company, has launched an online portal to cater for the needs of holidaymakers.

The portal, gogothere.net, contains a variety of booking options with competitive rates and is set to rival renowned international and local market leaders like Travelport. Speaking during the launch, Karibu Travel and Tours chairman Sudhir Pathak said that the portal is meant to improve customer service and make it easy for travellers to make hustle-free bookings.

Travellers can make flight search and bookings from a list of airlines, some of which feature negotiated fares.

“Karibu enjoys a cordial relationship with other players in the industry like hotels, airlines and suppliers. This has enabled us to get very good rates, a benefit that we have always passed onto our esteemed customers,” Mr Pathak said.

After creating an account agents or travellers are able to log onto the site and do a flight search which displays airfares of the most cost-friendly airlines and proceed to fill personal details, make payment and receive an e-ticket and a text with flight details.

‘‘Although individuals’ bookings are eligible, it is more likely for agents making bulk reservations at the portal to access discounts,’’ he said.

Besides selling tickets online, the interactive one-stop shop plans to roll out all inclusive travel packages to ease travel headaches.

Car rental

At the beginning of December travellers and agents will be able to access international and local hotel and holiday packages, exclusively custom-made for Karibu Travel and Tours.

Subsequently, the portal will incorporate car rental next year. Buying of bus and rail tickets will be incorporated before end of June and October respectively.

Booking terms indicate that each ticket should be used on the specified date and valid for 24 hours. Although cancellations can be done, refunds will be given according to in-house policies.

Established eight years ago, Karibu Tours and Travel has been organising international and local tourism packages for travellers.
