Huawei trains 60 technicians at its Nairobi regional hub

Chinese tech firm Huawei has trained 60 technicians since the opening of a regional training centre in Nairobi in September.

The centre aims to grow practical skills in information communication technology.

The training centre in Lavington which was officially launched last week will host a number of courses targeting individuals and corporates looking to refine employee skills by taking them through training that include hardware installation.

The training also involves teaching on different technologies including 4G, IoT, cloud computing and Software Defined Networks (SDN).

“This training centre will increasingly focus on providing training on new technologies including 4G, IoT, cloud computing and Software Defined Networks (SDN)/Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV),” said Huawei Technologies East Africa Head of Learning Services, Peter Thuo.

“It aims to build ICT skills amongst employees and key players in the ICT ecosystem in the region in order to drive the ICT industry and the countries’ digital transformations.”
