Why you can be anything but not everything

What you need to know:

  • Focus on emphasising your strengths instead of fixing your weakness: Your weakness does not define who you are.

Live your life with purpose. Focus on your blessings, not your misfortunes. Focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Be yourself and don’t wait for approval of others. But most importantly, have a positive & humble mindset no matter what situation you are in. Count your blessings and not your problems, and you will realize how beautiful life truly is.” – Troy Amdahl.

Who probably does not know about Richard Branson, the seventh-wealthiest British billionaire by net worth? Branson is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world to have built eight billion-dollar companies from scratch in eight different countries.

An English business magnate, investor and philanthropist, he founded the Virgin Group, which controls more than 400 companies.
His entrepreneurial journey started with a Magazine called “Student” at the age of 16.

He later set up a mail order record business, opened a chain of record stores called Virgin records and went on to rapidly grow his Virgin brand through Virgin Atlantic airline and later the Virgin Records music label.

But little do people know that he was never considered a bright student in school.

He was always considered to be lazy and stupid. While his mind was quite sharp and active, his teachers always felt he was not interested in learning.

At a time when dyslexia was known by only a few, Branson used his this condition, also also as reading disorder, to his advantage.

He learned about the mechanics of his learning disability and adapted his management style to it.

“My interest in life comes from setting myself huge, apparently unachievable challenges and trying to rise above them ... from the perspective of wanting to live life to the full, I felt that I had to attempt it.” – Sir Richard Branson.

LEARN TO FOCUS ON THE GOALS

Focus on emphasising your strengths instead of fixing your weakness: Your weakness does not define who you are. Your strengths and your courage do. You end up achieving better when you focus on them, refine them and hone them.

Focus on where you want to go and not where you can go: Train your mind to focus on the goals you set for yourself, look ahead, plan ahead and just head in the direction until you meet your goal.

Be a good person but don’t waste time to prove it: Some people may hate you because your strengths remind them of their weakness. Don’t waste your time trying to prove to them who you are.

Today is only as beautiful as you allow it to be: If there is one person who can make your day happy, positive and vibrant, it is you. So, stay positive, think positive and focus on your blessings and not on the hurdles.

It is what we do after we fall that creates or destroys our spirit: Sometimes the harder you fall, the stronger you rise. But, remember failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up.
