Global tech giant Google has launched an accelerator programme to support entrepreneurs in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
The tech firm has invited entrepreneurs to apply for the Google’s Developers Launchpad Africa before December 11, for the 2018 intake.
To qualify, start-ups have to be based in sub-Saharan Africa and target the continent’s market and must have already attracted seed funding.
Google will provide n start-ups with over Sh303 million in equity-free support, working space, and access to expert advisers from Silicon Valley and Africa, over the next three years.
Participants will also receive travel and public relations support during the three-month programme.
“We’re excited to announce our new hands-on comprehensive mentorship programme tailored exclusively to start-ups based in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa,” said Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
This initiative will operate from a new Google Launchpad Space in Lagos, the first onsite location for the programme outside the US.
