MultiChoice is enticing its GOtv customers with a new subscription option – GOtv Max aimed at locking in subscribers to its pay-TV service.

The package that was launched on Sunday, offers more content with four new channels of local and international programming.

Priced at Sh1,299 per month, the package offers all La Liga matches on a new sports channel SS Select 4, selected live games of the English Premier League and a wider sports offering, that includes WWE.

Customers can also enjoy movies and series straight from the US on channels like Fox Entertainment and Sony MAX as well as reality programmes on CBS Reality.

GOtv Kenya general manager Simon Kariithi said all active GOtv Plus customers are being given free access to the new package for a month during the trial period – commonly referred as open window.

“We‘re delighted that our GOtv Plus customers will get to experience this new world of entertainment.

With more package options now available to our valued customers, they can choose a subscription plan that best fits their needs and budget,” said Mr Kariithi.

More value

He said the GOtv open window periods are one of the innovative ways they aim to provide more value to their subscribers’ TV viewing experience, irrespective of their subscription plan.

GOtv Plus customers pay Sh699 per month, which is the most expensive package, while GOtv Value and Lite customers pay Sh470 and Sh160 respectively.

On September 1, MultiChoice cut monthly bouquet prices on its Dstv brand by between three and nine per cent in response to customers needs, growing competition from Internet TV and tough economic environment.

Subscribers on the Premium tariff are paying Sh7,900, Compact Plus users (Sh5,200 monthly), Compact users part with Sh3,200, while Access subscribers, the cheapest package are paying Sh950.
