The NGO Co-ordination board has accused the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation of being inconsistent with information about its activities hence the move to freeze its bank accounts.

Nicholas Lindon, the executive director of the board, made the allegation while responding to a suit in which the foundation moved to court to protest against the May 2 move that made funds at I&M bank inaccessible.

Mr Lindon said that a team of compliance officers conducted a review of the foundation’s file and certain ‘anomalies’ were brought to its attention through a letter dated March 1.

He said that the foundation was well notified and asked to comply with certain directives, which included identifying all its bank accounts.

He said that the documents provided were not satisfactory. “I wish to state that the nature of inconsistencies cannot be wished away,” said Mr Lindon.

The board filed its responses to the case only after Justice Roselyne Aburili issued the ultimatum last month. The case landed in court on May 8. Judgement is set for January 24, 2018.
