Activist Okiya Omtatah has moved to the Supreme Court after failing to stop the repeat presidential poll at the High Court.

He now wants Thursday's repeat presidential election nullified, arguing that it was voided by the withdrawal of National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

The High Court had on Tuesday this week dismissed his petition to temporarily bar the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from going ahead with the poll.

Justice John Mativo said the High Court had no jurisdiction to hear the case, noting that it fell within the purview of the Supreme Court.

Reject poll

Meanwhile, the National Super Alliance (Nasa) - via a statement read by Musalia Mudavadi - today rejected Thursday's repeat election, referring to the process as a farce.

Shortly after, opposition leader Raila Odinga told a crowd of his supporters in Kibera that Kenyans had heeded his call not to take part in Thursday's election.

He was accompanied by Kibra MP Ken Okoth.
