Ringera: Court halted Anglo leasing probes

Former Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) boss Aaron Ringera Monday said the High Court stopped the anti-graft agency from investigating Anglo Leasing cases abroad due to a lack of laws for international inquiries.

He told the anti-corruption court that in 2004 when he joined the EACC, he found the police investigating two Anglo Leasing files, relating to passport and forensic laboratory. Retired Justice Ringera initiated investigations into other related files, and in 2006 presented five files to the AG to prosecute.
