HF Group gives 60 construction graduates skills

HF Group #ticker:HFCK has in partnership with a German agency hosted 60 artisans as part of a programme to train 450 building and construction technicians in the next twelve months.

HF Group, through its foundation and the German Co-operation for International Development (GIZ) agreed to source for trainees from technical training institutions (TIVET) and universities across Kenya thereby enabling students acquire market-driven skills.

Speaking at Prabhaki Industrial Park in Nairobi, HF Group Foundation member Caroline Armstrong said the 60 trainee-graduates would enjoy first priority in future projects conducted by HF Group.

“Our programme seeks to emphasise uptake of market-driven courses that ensure graduates get jobs upon completion of their training, she said.

The artisans received training on masonry, plumbing and electrical installation giving them an opportunity to apply knowledge learnt in college.

She added engagement with the students enabled private companies to add their input to the TIVET curriculum thereby giving students the much-needed practical skills.
