New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)-listed real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) has revealed it midwifed the sale of Ecobank Kenya head office in Nairobi last year.
Even though JLL did not disclose the cost of the transaction or buyer, Michael Walker, JLL director, marketing and communications for sub-Saharan Africa yesterday said they facilitated the deal for the Ecobank Kenya multi-storey building near City Hall.
“We do big finance sales, we put the deals together, we find the investor and we make those transactions happen,” Mr Walker said in an interview.

It has been providing management and real estate outsourcing services for a property portfolio of 372 million square metres and completed $138 billion (Sh14.2 trillion) in sales, acquisitions and finance transactions in 2015.
“Now we have an office in Nairobi, and Lagos, Nigeria. We came to Africa about four years ago through acquisition of several companies present in the continent. “We acquired about two companies in South Africa and expanded into Kenya where we didn’t do any acquisition. We have about eight people that are working in our Nairobi office,” said Mr Walker.
