Real estate developer China Jiangxi Construction Company has completed building a Sh5 billion residential complex in Kilifi County’s Kikambala area targeting affluent Kenyans and visiting billionaires.

Project assistant manager Howard Hu said the 200 housing units - dubbed Sultan Palace - comprising Sh80 million villas facing the Indian Ocean, Sh36 million standalone townhouses, as well as the three-, two- and one-bedroomed apartments valued at between Sh10 million to Sh20 million respectively are ready for occupation.

“The houses provide rich tourists with a holiday home that is also an investment. We shall link the houses to the soon to be built hotel complex on the remaining 23-acre parcel of land. We have a water treatment plant and a standby generator that will ensure round the clock supply of water and electricity to our residents,” said Mr Hu.

The firm is also building Nairobi’s 26-floor parliament complex at Sh5.8 billion that will house National Assembly and Senate member’s offices to be linked to both houses via an underground tunnel across Parliament Road.
