The National Industrial Training Authority (Nita) has stopped taking payments in company or personal cheques.

Nita, a state agency, which offers industrial training will now only accept payments made through bankers cheques/draft, electronic fund transfers, real time gross settlement and cash deposits.

Payments made include those related to industrial training levy, student and trade test fees.

“After effecting payment, Kindly forward the transaction details of your payment to Nita headquarters or nearest Nita office for verification and receipting,” the agency said.

Nita has centres in Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa and Athi River and offers engineering trade training at craft level in building, mechanical, electronic plant and automotive, refrigeration and air conditioning, and boiler maintenance.

Last month, the agency said it would sponsor needy female Form Four leavers from arid and semi-arid areas to pursue engineering courses in 2018.

This will target individuals from the marginalised areas of Mandera, Turkana, Lamu, Wajir, West Pokot, Kwale, Kitui, Mwingi, Makueni, Tharaka-Nithi, Mbeere, Transmara, Kuria and Marigat.
