Deluxe introduces new Ashok motor models into the market

Deluxe Trucks and Buses E.A. Ltd, the official authorised distributor of Ashok Leyland trucks and buses in Kenya, officially launched the all-new Ashok Leyland Boss 1218 and the Phoenix.

The launch held at the Deluxe Trucks and Buses showroom, located along ICD road, and off Mombasa Road, Nairobi has seen the addition to the current Ashok Leyland product range which includes; the popular 2518il tipper and the 9016.

 Simba Corp Managing Director Naresh Leekha, said, this marks a great milestone, to the 53-year history of Simba Corp Ltd.

“We are celebrating the grand opening of Deluxe Trucks and Buses Ltd, alongside, the launch of the Boss 1218 and the Phoenix, both of which will come with the industry's first, five-Year, or 500,000km Warranty,” he said.

“This is a testament to the faith we have in our product and also a long-standing commitment to our customers, that we have them covered,” he added.

Ashok Leyland Head of Africa Business Sachin Dasharath, noted that Kenya is a strategic market for Ashok Leyland in the African continent, since it’s the headquarters of the East Africa operations.

“We are happy to launch the all-new Phoenix, which we have tried and tested on more than 50,000 km of Kenyan roads, within the past year. We see great opportunity in the market and we look forward to growing our business in Kenya,” said Dasharath.

“We are proud to be partnering with a strong brand such as Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja group, the second largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in India, and the fourth largest manufacturer of buses in the world,” said Simba Corporation Chairman Adil Popat.

This partnership will have the Ashok Leyland trucks assembled locally at our AVA plant in Mombasa, making sure they are built tough and customized for the Kenyan terrain,” said Popat.

On her part, the chief guest India High Commissioner, Ms. Namgya Khampa, praised the partnership between Ashok Leyland and Deluxe Trucks and Buses saying it was an indicator of the good relationship that Kenya has with India.

“We are looking forward to continuing to enhance trade between both countries. As India, we have been growing our manufacturing base and are on hand to help transfer those skills and especially in the automotive industry,” she said.

The Boss 1218, is a powerful medium-duty truck that comes with a 6-cylinder turbocharged engine, which produces 180 Horsepower and enables it to carry up to 10 tonnes with ease. Whereas the Phoenix is a fuel-efficient, last-mile delivery pick-up with a 1.5 liter, 3-cylinder, turbocharged engine that enables it to carry up to two tonnes,” said Deluxe Trucks and Buses E.A. Ltd Managing Director Ameet Shroff.

Both vehicles come with a five Year or 500,000 km Warranty and are available with up to 95 percent financing from our various financial partners. The Boss 1218 goes for Sh4,400,000 while  the Phoenix goes for Sh 2,378,000.
