The National Assembly Wednesday altered its calendar that will see MPs hold two sittings every Tuesday and three every Thursday.
MPs will now sit up to 9pm from 2:30pm as the House rushes to clear priority business amid Covid-19 pandemic.
Traditionally, the business of the House is transacted on Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoon and the whole day on Wednesdays.
MPs will earn Sh100,000 more monthly after Parliament increased the House sittings to five sessions a week from two to speed up debates and passage of Bills.

MPs are paid Sh5,000 per session meaning they will take home Sh25,000 per week or Sh100,000 monthly under the new arrangement.
Prior to the new arrangement, they were paid Sh10,000 for the two sessions held every Tuesday and Thursday, down from Sh60,000 they earned before the Covid-19 pandemic for six sittings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, however, cut the sittings to two days from July 2, 2020 to stem the spread of Covid-19 after several MPs tested positive.
Under the July arrangement, the House held morning and afternoon sittings on Thursday commencing at 10am and at 2:30pm, respectively. The Tuesday and Thursday sittings stood suspended.
Leader of Majority Amos Kimunya said MPs need to approve more than 100 Bills before the year comes to an end.
“If we continue business as usual, we will end up with your Bills not being passed,” he said.
