Governor mulls moving residence to Kerio Valley

Elgeyo Marakwet governor Alex Tolgos is mulling over the possibility of moving his stalled residence construction to Kerio Valley.

This is after the project work inside a sports stadium in Iten town was met with stiff opposition as critics said it was irregularly established. Mr Tolgos on Thursday said he was considering moving to the new location, 80 kilometres away from the town.

He pointed out that the environment in the lowland was more conducive for living than most places in Kenya, owing to its favourable climate. He spoke after launching a Sh10m water project by Tullow Oil.
