Coca-Cola in Sh43m promotion ahead of Russia World Cup

Soft drinks firm Coca-Cola will reward two million consumers ahead of this year’s FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place from June in Russia.

In a promotion called “Funga Mamilli na Coca-Cola”, those who will consume the firm’s products will over the next 16 weeks get an opportunity to win prizes and other rewards worth Sh42.5 million.

“Coca-Cola has been a sponsor of the FIFA World Cup for more than four decades. As a build up to the FIFA World Cup, we are tapping into the excitement and the love of Kenyans for football by rewarding them through this campaign. The reward offer them varying chances on how to prepare for the World Cup and making 16 millionaires by the end of the campaign,” said Rodney Nzioka, senior brand manager - Kenya, in a statement.

The products that are part of this promotion include Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Krest or Stoney in either plastic or glass bottles with a white crown available at local retail outlets countrywide.

Cash prizes range from Sh500 to Sh1 million, others are smart TVs, TV subscriptions and data bundles.

Participants must be registered users on mobile service providers Safaricom #ticker:SCOM, Airtel, Telkom and Yu.

To participate, consumers will be required to text the eight-digit code on the white crown to the short-code number 40111 to stand a chance to win daily and weekly prizes.

Last month, the World Cup trophy was in Nairobi where hundreds of football fans got a chance to come up close and take pictures.
