Indian carmaker— Bajaj Auto has launched a new motorcycle model in Kenya designed to take on rough terrain.

Bajaj is seeking to further penetrate the boda boda market with the new, hardy bike.

The new model, Boxer X125, is selling for Sh103,990.

The motorcycles are imported in completely knock down (CKD) kits and assembled at the firm’s Mombasa Road plant in Nairobi.

“The launch of Boxer X125 is a strong demonstration of Bajaj’s commitment to the Kenyan market. The company is looking into further expanding the business within the region with a plan to locally produce some parts later in the year,” the firm said in a statement on Tuesday.
