Windsor Hotel names former Starwood executive as new GM

Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club has hired former Starwood Hotel executive Vijay Krishnan as its new general manager.

Mr Krishnan joins Windsor which is associated with the Michuki family from his latest post in Asia, where he was responsible for the launch of a luxury hotel.

“We are delighted to welcome Mr Krishnan to the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club team. His extensive experience in the luxury hotel industry makes him a great fit for this role,” said Windsor Golf Hotel Executive Director Francis Murai Michuki.

With 22 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Mr Krishnan holds a Bachelor’s degree in hotel management from the Mangalore University in India.

He has undertaken advanced professional training in management development programmes from Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration, USA and Ecole Hoteliere De Lausanne, Switzerland.

Windsor consists of 130 deluxe rooms comprising of twins, doubles, studio suites and cottages all overlooking the spectacular 18-hole championship golf course.

The exclusive 20-year-old facility is owned by the family of the late Environment minister John Michuki and sits on slightly more than 200 acres of a former coffee estate.

Mr Krishnan has previously worked with hospitality brands such as Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts (Associated with Starwood brands such as Le Meridien, Four Points by Sheraton & Design Hotels), American Express Banking Corp & Hyatt Hotels International.
