A flock of swans lived on a large tree deep in a forest. A vine plant slowly crept its way up on the tree’s trunk. An old swan of the group told the others to uproot the vine plant immediately.

The swans laughed and paid no heed to the old swan’s advice. They just followed their daily routine. After a few days, the vine plant that twirled around the stem had grown to reach the very top of the trunk. The old swan knew that using this creeper as support, anyone could climb up the tree and cause nuisance to the swans. He recognized the grave danger the swans were in, since hunters often came to the forest to capture the birds.

One fine day, a hunter found his way up on the tree with the help of the fully-grown vine plant. He climbed the tree and scattered his net to capture the swans. The old swan returned in the evening and found that all the other swans were captured. He immediately visualised the incident. The netted swans now pleaded for help.

The old swan got very angry and lashed out at them for not taking the advice of uprooting the vine well in time and how they deserved this. The swans were shocked to see the usually calm swan being so harsh and so cried and begged for their life.

After a lot of persuasion, the old swan agreed to help them on one condition that the swans do just as he says. The swans didn’t want to die so agreed unanimously. The old swan then whispered the plan and they did exactly the same. All the swans acted still and dead. So the frustrated hunter dropped the swan to the ground one by one. And when the last swan was flung to the ground, all the swans flew at once, baffling the hunter. This incident, especially, the old swan acting angry and pricey to make sure the swans executed the plan taught the swans lessons for life.

Look beyond the obvious: Sometimes, we are confined by the walls we build around ourselves. Break all barriers and look out for possibilities that are beyond the obvious.

Life begins at the end of the comfort zone: Sometimes, small changes can make a big difference in your life. The sooner the better it is for you to witness the magic of life.

If you want to be strong, learn how to fight alone: Sometimes, fighting alone is a choice and other times, it is circumstances that push you. Either way, fight stronger and harder.

Nothing can work, unless you do: Nothing will change unless you change, and nothing will work, unless you put in effort and hard work.

Sometimes bad times put us on the best path: Everything happens for a reason, sometimes you know why and sometimes, not. And in such times, a small change can make a difference.
