Taz Technologies, the Kenyan startup behind the Mpost innovation, has been selected among 10 African tech startups that have each secured Sh1.7 million ($17,500) in funding and access to partners and mentors.

The startup was the only one selected from Kenya to participate in the Startupbootcamp (SBC) AfriTech, a multi-corporate backed accelerator programme. The programme, unveiled in 2010, scouts for top-tier tech startups to join the three-month accelerator. The three-month accelerator programme starts on August 13.

“You are here because your solution is market-ready and the sponsors want to work with you starting from today,” said Startupbootcamp AfriTech Co-founder Philip Kiracofe during the announcement of the selected startups. Mpost recently introduced a pick-n-drop feature allowing seamless delivery of items.
