The private beach front residential development in Watamu by luxury hotel operator, Hemingways Collection, has sold three units off-plan at between Sh45 million to Sh145 million.
Hemingways Watamu operations manager Melinda Rees described the multimillion-shilling sale as a major boost, saying owning luxury apartments was catching up for wealthy families wishing to enjoy quiet time.
She said the construction of 12 villas had been completed with nine others expected to be ready for occupation mid-year.
The residences were part of Hemingways Watamu refurbishment and expansion project that cost Sh1.1 billion and was executed in the past two years.
She said refurbishment of the five-star facility located on Turtle Bay will have 39 rooms all facing the Ocean on the main hotel complex and 21 spacious one, two and four bedroomed private villas.
