East Africa-focused German off-grid solar firm Mobisol, has announced plans to open 20 more stores in Kenya with an eye on increasing its rural market share.

Mobisol East Africa’s chief executive officer Henrik Axelsson said the stores would efficiently enable it pitch products to customers.

“Kenya’s economy is growing rapidly and with our top-notch technology, off-grid households in Kenya can finally afford home and business solar systems, and enjoy a modern and comfortable lifestyle, improve their economic well-being and also set new standards for worldwide sustainability,” said Mr Axelsson.

The company, which retails directly to customers, recently opened its flagship store in Kisumu.

The company’s large solar home systems come with several LED light sets, portable lantern, mobile phone charger kit, flat-screen LED TVs up to sizes of 32”, portable radio and balance-of-system components including wiring and switches.
