Toyota Tsusho Corporation and its local subsidiary CFAO Kenya are joining forces with Japan’s Unicharm Corporation to manufacture sanitary pads locally, signalling increased competition in Kenya’s hygiene products industry.
The three firms have submitted a joint venture approval request to the regional regulator, the Comesa Competition and Consumer Commission (CCCC), setting the stage for their entry into an already competitive sanitary products market.
