A firm has been ordered to pay NCBA Bank Kenya Sh534 million as damages for a loan it extended based on erroneous property valuation reports.
The bank loaned KAAB Investments Limited based on the strength of valuation reports of a property it owned. The borrower, however, defaulted on the loan provided by NCBA triggering a court fight that exposed the flawed valuation of the property attached to the debt.
