Kenya Power has upgraded 5.5 million pre-paid meters out of the targeted 7.4 million as of August 15, with South Nyanza, North Rift, and western Kenya regions lagging in the campaign launched in mid-June to ensure the security of generated tokens.
Fresh data from the utility firm, however, reveals that only 254,321 pre-paid meters have been updated in the South Nyanza region out of a targeted 401,596 ahead of the August 31 deadline.
