The Sh6.2billion Athi River-Machakos turnoff dual carriageway project has been completed and is set to ease traffic congestion on the section.
The 20-kilometre road, which is an extension of the Mombasa Road dual carriageway notorious for traffic jams and accidents, was commissioned in 2017 and was co-funded by the World Bank and the Kenya government on a 60:40 basis.
