Kenya had in August blocked American citizens from the three states direct admission to the country following high levels of rampant cases of Covid-19 in those regions.

However, US citizens from other states were exempted from mandatory quarantine once they arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with the negative Covid-19 certificates.

“All American citizens can now come to Kenya without having to undergo mandatory quarantine following the latest update on the list,” said Kenya Civil Aviation Authority director-general Gilbert Kibe.

The new update now brings the total number of countries whose citizens would not be undergo quarantine to 186. The new list implies that only nine countries are still on the red list out of a total 195 nations in the world. Additional countries on the list include Algeria, DRC, Guinea, Burkina Faso, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Belarus and Philippines.

This is the third time the list has been updated since August with the number rising from the initial 19 countries.
