How IMF is embroiled in Kenya’s financial crisis, protests

As the outrage against the Finance Bill 2014 reached its peak with President William Ruto declining to assent to the draft law, attention quickly shifted to the role of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the saga.   

When the dust settled on Tuesday’s protests, which left tens dead, scores injured and properties worth millions destroyed, Dr Ruto sent back to the National Assembly the revenue-raising measures, recommending the deletion of all the clauses.
