The average transfer period of land and buildings is expected to fall by more than half after private experts were allowed to value property on behalf of the Lands ministry.

The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) — a lobby for real estate professionals — said the move opened the door for more than 500 registered valuers to process property deals, a significant jump from “less than 60” government valuers who have been handling 57 registries.
