Affordable French perfume maker, Adopt’, has launched its products in the Kenyan market, through a sole franchise deal with Lintons Beauty World.

Lintons, one of Kenya’s top beauty retailers, will stock 22 fragrances, 19 for female and three for male, out of the over 100 that Adopt’ sells globally.

The local beauty chain store, with over 20 international brands in its portfolio, says it has added Adopt’, providing options for customers looking for affordable designer products.

The perfumes range from Sh1,600 to Sh3,400 depending on the bottle size.

“We identified a gap in the market and in our portfolio as Lintons. Most fragrances range from Sh10,000 to Sh55,000 in all our stores,” said June Mwathi, brand manager for Adopt’.

“Most of our clients will buy the high-end brands and would want to buy something for their young and teenage daughters as well. They now have an affordable and luxury option instead of spending the same amount of money.”

It will be sold in most of Lintons’ Nairobi stores with plans to introduce it in Meru and Mombasa.

Dr Joyce Gikunda, the co-founder of the beauty chain says the brand targets beauty-conscious consumers, especially younger people looking for a unique fragrance at a fair price.

“Just as women buy lingerie to feel good, a lot of people want to feel and smell good. We wanted to bring something affordable as well,” she said.

“Adopt’ is the perfect brand that will allow people to purchase a genuine product for their use and as gifts for loved ones. Even university and college students can afford three different fragrances and easily vary their scents from morning to nighttime. You can change your fragrance according to your mood, emotions, and occasions.”

Ms Mwathi adds that the size of the bottle fits well also for young consumers for night-outs as it can fit well in a handbag without being bulgy.

“Those who would want to carry something seductively, then this is it.”

Lintons has many international skincare and fragrance brands from France including Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford, Issey Miyake, Bvlgari, Versace, Clinique, Estée Lauder, Lancome, Givenchy, Guerlain, Thierry Mugler, Yves Saint Laurent, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Burberry.

“The French are known for fantastic skincare and cosmetic brands and home of luxury. It is why again we went for it,” Ms Mwathi says.

The renowned local luxury brands seller will also re-distribute Adopt’ perfumes to the larger East Africa market.

Lintons Beauty World is a family business that was founded in 2008 as an associate of Lyntons Pharmacy, which opened shop 31 years ago.
