Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) Director General Mohammed Badi has split the enforcement and compliance directorate into two following battle between the director and her deputy for control of the department.

The directorate which is headed by Rachael Maina has now been split into enforcement on one side, and compliance and delivery services on the other.

The NMS boss, in a letter dated December 15, 2020, announced the separation of enforcement function from the directorate of enforcement, compliance and delivery.

Ms Maina’s deputy, Dr Mark Leleruk will now head the enforcement wing with Ms Maina heading the compliance and delivery services section with the two now reporting directly to Major General Badi.

This, Mr Badi said, was in order to further enhance operational efficiency at NMS. He urged all directors to work as a team and create synergy to enable NMS deliver its mandate.

“It is hereby clarified that the deputy director enforcement Dr Mark Leleruk will report directly to my office technically and administratively while Ms Rachael Maina will continue to serve as the Director Compliance and Delivery and will also report directly to my office,” said Maj Gen Badi in the letter addressed to the deputy director general, secretaries, advisors and all directors.
