Safaricom has launched a new product dubbed Flex that allows its customers the freedom to determine how much credit they will spend on calls, short messages and Internet bundles.

Customers now have the option of converting regular airtime to Flex units to enjoy the service that promises 35 per cent savings on calls, short messages and data.

One unit is equivalent to 3MB of data, 20 seconds call or three short messages across all networks in the country.

Customers can choose to sign up for a daily bundle costing Sh99 and which offers 115 units, a Sh599 weekly package buying 700 units or a monthly bundle for Sh2,499  offering 3,100 units.

To switch to the service, customers on prepaid plan can dial *100# while those on postpaid can dial *200#.

“With ‘Flex’, we are offering freedom and flexibility to our customers to navigate across our different products without restrictions,” said Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore.
