Ecobank, which in April closed nine branches, has opened its first premier banking branch at its head office in Westlands, bringing the total outlet count in the country to 21.

The branch is located at its regional headquarters at Fortis Office Park, Muthangari Drive, Off Waiyaki Way, Westlands.

“Benefits include access to high level investment and market briefs, invitations to periodical themed client events, priority pass for access to over 700 VIP lounges in leading airports around the world, Platinum card, access to premier banking lounges across Ecobank’s 33 countries in Africa, Kenya shilling and US dollar prepaid travel cards, personal loans and mortgage and equity release at negotiated terms,” said the bank.

The pan-African lender operates in 33 countries. Ecobank Kenya managing director and regional executive for Cesa Samuel Adjei on Monday said the lender was re-emphasising its focus on the Kenyan market as a key growth frontier.

“Ecobank Kenya is our regional hub for Cesa countries and we are looking at the success of premier banking in Kenya as a launch pad for the rest of the countries in the region,” said Mr Adjei. He said the rapid expansion of Kenya’s middle class and high net-worth individuals influenced the decision to open the branch.
