Two seeds lay side by side in the fertile spring soil. The first said, “I want to grow! I want to send my roots deep into the soil beneath me and thrust my sprouts through the earth’s crust above me…I want to unfurl my tender buds like banners to announce the arrival of spring…I want to feel the warmth of the sun on my face and the bless of the morning dew on my petals!” And she grew.
The second seed said: “I doubt if I would be doing the right thing by exploring into unknown. I am afraid, If I send my roots into the ground below, I don’t know what I will encounter in the dark. If I push my way through the hard soil above me I may damage my delicate sprouts…what if I let my buds open and a snail tries to eat them? And if I were to open my blossoms, a small child may pull me from the ground. No, it is much better for me to wait until it is safe.”
And so, she waited. A yard hen scratching around for food, found the seed and ate it.
As Amy Poehler said, “Great people do things before they are ready.... Doing what you are afraid of, getting out of your comfort zone, taking risks like that, that’s what life is”.
It’s how you leap
1.Take risk, or you lose the chance: If you don’t try, you will never know it, whether it works or not, whether you would succeed or fail. Life is a mix of success and failure, if you fear failure and stop taking risk, you lose the chance of winning.
2.The biggest risk a person can take is to do nothing: As they say, a ship in the harbour is a safe bet, but that was not what ships are made for. Waiting for the right time, the right opportunity and the right reason, will not take you far.
3. Great things never come from the comfort zone: Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. You can only grow when you are willing to take risk, try new things, fail, rise up and start again.
4.You will never know if it’s your right decision: When you take risk and win, you will be happy and if you lose, the experience will make you wiser than before. If you are not courageous enough to take risks, you can accomplish nothing much in life.
5. Stop worrying about what you have to lose and focus on what you have to gain: If you want it, go for it. Don’t always play it safe. Take a risk, or die regretting.
