Cellulant, 3G Direct in deal to boost online payments

Mobile digital payments provider Cellulant has partnered with 3G Direct Pay Limited (3G DP) to enable customers in Africa to make secure online payments using credit and debit cards, PayPal and Mobile Money.

The online transactions will now be safer, reliable and in real-time.

In the deal, 3G Direct Pay end customers will be able to use and pay via M-Pesa, Airtel Money, MTN Mobile Money and other mobile money platforms across the continent.

The mobile money payment will be processed in real-time; the customer will receive an online confirmation and can use the service they are paying for immediately.

“Mobile payments in Africa have grown dramatically over the past few years,” said Eran Feinstein, the managing director of 3G Direct Pay.

"We now want to expand from East Africa into the rest of Africa and we are in a position to support the massive mobile money online payments boom that’s happening across the continent. We have spent the past year growing relationships in Africa, so we can offer our clients, substantial online payment capabilities," he said.

Establishing direct relationships with Cellulant has been important for 3G Direct Pay, said Mr Feinstein.

“We have been looking for a professional provider who could supply excellent and reliable integration and service which supports multiple mobile money operators. Cellulant has an outstanding experience in this space,” he said.
