Commercial Bank of Africa is seeking a bigger share of Kenya’s premium banking market with the launch of exclusive banking suites for the wealthy.

The suites will target salaried individuals with a net income of Sh300,000 and those running current accounts will be required to maintain a minimum balance of Sh1 million.

Local banks are including private banking suites in their stable to tap high-net-worth individuals who offer higher transactional incomes and deposits.

“We target individuals who hold key positions in reputable companies such as CEOs, financial controllers, country directors and persons who enjoy VIP status such as diplomats,” said CBA group managing director Isaac Awuondo.

Premium customers enjoy extended banking hours and are issued with multicurrency credit cards, enjoy discounts at selected outlets and have access to executive airport lounges around the world.
