KQ picks Deloitte for forensic audit of operations

National carrier Kenya Airways has commissioned a forensic audit of its operations as part of the airline’s turnaround strategy.

An earlier report of KQ had expressed concerns that system weaknesses within the company could be linked to revenue leakage leading to the airline’s poor financial performance.

KQ has appointed consulting firm Deloitte to perform the audit and give recommendations that will support the improvement of the airline’s systems, processes and activities.

"The objective of this exercise is to identify areas of weakness and give recommendations that will complement the ongoing turnaround strategy," Kenya Airways said in a statement.

The national carrier will also announce the appointment of a transaction adviser expected to assist the airline achieve its strategic objectives in relation to long-term capital financing.
