Administration Police officers involved in the security operation in Laikipia County have protested the delay in the payment of Sh14 million allowances.
The APs said that they did not receive their allowances two weeks ago when their regular police and General Service Unit counterparts in the operation were each paid Sh63,500.
They expressed fears that the money set aside for the allowances could revert to the Treasury as the financial year comes to an end today.
A senior officer based in Laikipia confirmed to the Business Daily that the 225 AP officers are yet to receive the allowances.
The officers are drawn from across the country, according to the senior officer based in Laikipia County who declined to be quoted since he is not authorised on the matter.
