The CEOs of Nairobi Securities Exchange-listed firms CfC Stanbic Holdings and BOC Kenya Ltd have resigned, leaving their firms with the task of hiring their replacements.
CfC’s chief executive Kitili Mbathi resigned Friday and has been replaced on a temporary basis by Greg Brackenridge, currently the regional chief executive of CfC Stanbic Bank.
Mr Mbathi had held the position for eight years.
“The board of CfC Stanbic Holdings Limited hereby gives notice of the resignation of Mr Kitili Mbathi as the chief executive … effective this day January 29, 2016,” the company said in a statement.
CfC did not say why Mr Kitili resigned.
Gas producer BOC Kenya Ltd also announced the resignation of its CEO Maria Msiska effective January 31, following an advertisement in August 2015 that sought to recruit her replacement.
“Mrs Msiska’s replacement will be announced in due course upon appointment by the board of BOC. In the meantime, the finance director Mr Arthur Kamau will assume the position of acting managing director of the company,” BOC said in a statement.
