Auto dealer DT Dobie is moving its showroom from Nairobi’s central business district to Mombasa Road, taking competition closer to its rivals who are stationed along the major highway.

The firm is closing the College House town centre showroom, which offered lesser visibility and parking space for customers.

Crown Motors, the new Nissan Dealer, last year opened a showroom at the junction of Uhuru Highway and Bunyala Road.

Urysia, the Peugeot dealer, also opened a showroom and aftersales service centre along Bunyala Road where CMC Holdings also displays its motor vehicle and agricultural equipment.

General Motors East Africa, Tata Africa and Simba Colt Motors are among the other dealers with similar facilities Nairobi’s Mombasa Road.

“While we have fond memories of our traditional base at College House we realised the time had come to move to bigger premises and a more convenient location with a larger parking area for our customers,” Zarak Khan, DT Dobie’s chief executive said in a statement.

The staff formerly working at College House have been deployed to Lusaka Road and Mombasa Road.
